Dr. Cui Hua Liu is a Professor and Principal investigator in CAS Key Laboratory of Pathogenic Microbiology and Immunology, Institute of Microbiology, Chinese Academy of Sciences. She is also the Head of the Teaching and Research Section of Pathogen Biology in the University of Chinese Academy of Sciences. She was awarded as “Distinguished Young Investigator” from National Natural Science Foundation of China (NSFC) (2018). Dr. Cui Hua Liu’s laboratory is mainly interested in studying the molecular mechanisms of pathogenic bacteria-host interactions. Her group have identified several bacterial secreted effector proteins and host factors that modulate bacterial invasion and intracellular survival, as well as host innate immune response and cell proliferation, etc. Results from those studies could provide novel knowledge and targets for pathogen-host interfaces-targeted anti-tuberculosis therapeutics. As the first or corresponding author, Dr. Cui Hua Liu has published a series of research papers in journals including Cell, Nat Immunol, Nat Commun, Proc Natl Acad Sci USA, etc. She also participated in the publication of a number of books including《Ubiquitin-mediated protein degradation》.
