Dr. Zhihong Zhang is the director of Division of Biomedical Photonics, Wuhan National Lab for Optoelectronics, Huazhong University of Science and Technology (HUST) in China. She is the awardee of National Science Fund for Distinguished Young Scholars of China. She received her Ph.D. in Biomedical Engineering from HUST in 2003. She joined Britton Chance Center for Biomedical Photonics of HUST in 1999, and was promoted to Associate Professor in 2004 and Full Professor in 2008. She was visiting scholar in Dr. Britton Chance’s lab in University of Pennsylvania in 2002-2003, and was postdocotoral fellow at Dr. Gang Zheng’s lab in Ontario Cancer Institute / University of Toronto in 2007-2009. Her current research focuses on 1) in vivo immuno-optical molecular imaging, 2) multi-functional lipid nanoparticle for tumor imaging and immuno-therapeutics, and 3) fluorescent protein probes for molecular imaging in vivo. Dr. Zhang is the first or corresponding author of over 50 papers published in eLife, Nature Communications, Autophagy, Angewandte Chemie International Edition, ACS Nano, etc. She is the Editorial Board Members of Cellular & Molecular Immunology, Bioconjugate Chemistry, and Progress in Biochemistry and Biophysics.
