Yuzhang Wu, Prof. and Director of the Institute of Immunology, PLA, The Army Medical University, Chongqing, China. He is also the director of the National Centre for Immunoproducts R&D, the National Engineering Lab for Peptide Therapeutics and National Centre for Bioindustry, Chongqing. He got M.D. in the Secondary Military Medical University, Shanghai, China, in 1984, and Ph.D.in the Third Military Medical University, Chongqing, China, 1993. He pioneered the antigen engineering area that enables de novo design of immunogen and vaccines. His research interests are antigen processing & T cell recognition, T cell function manipulation and therapeutic vaccines. His studies focus on chronic infection, tumor and autoimmune diseases. He published more than 260 papers in SCI peer-reviewed journals, got more than 100 licensed patents, developed a list of innovative diagnostic kits and first-in class medicines : 7 are industrialized and 2 are in clinical trials.
