Xiaoyu Hu received Bachelor of Medicine degree from Beijing Medical University, obtained Ph.D. in immunology from Cornell University, and held the appointment of Assistant Professor at Hospital for Special Surgery/Weill Cornell Medical College. Since 2014, she has been a Principal Investigator at Institute for Immunology at Tsinghua University. Dr. Hu’s research aims to better understand the molecular mechanisms governing functionality of macrophages and intestinal epithelial cells under the physiological as well as pathological conditions such as autoimmunity and infection. Her research team has published in journals including Nature Immunology, Immunity, Cell Host & Microbe and Journal of Experimental Medicine. She is the recipient of multiple awards including Christina Fleischmann Award to Young Women Investigators from International Cytokine & Interferon Society, National Natural Science Foundation of China Distinguished Young Investigator Award, U.K. Royal Society Newton Advanced Fellowship, and Young Scholar Award from U.S. Arthritis Foundation.
