Professor Vladka Čurin Šerbec is a Head of R&R at the Blood Transfusion Centre of Slovenia and Professor at the Faculty of Medicine, University of Ljubljana (UL). She finished her studies at the Faculty of Natural Sciences, UL (BScChem, MScBiochem and PhD)and spent her postdoc at the Pasteur Institute in Paris, France. She led several national and international projects, many of them in collaboration with pharmaceutical industry.Her research area covers antibodies and their use in research, diagnostics and therapy, by focusing primarily on monoclonal antibodies (mAbs).She was granted international patents, sold non-exclusive licenses for mAbs to pharmaceutical industry and has documented technology transfer. Professor Vladka Čurin Šerbec was a part of the teams that established a graduate study of Biochemistry and postgraduate study of Biomedicine at the University of Ljubljana. She served as a menthor to many PhD students, as well as several graduate students, the majority of them were awarded for their reserch work. She holds a national (Zois) award for technical achiewements and inovations.
