Tania Crombet Ramos (1970): Medical Doctor (Superior Institute of Medical Sciences of Havana,1993); Immunology Specialist (1997); Philosophical Doctor (PhD, 2004). Current job: Medical Director of the Center of Molecular Immunology of Havana, Cuba (2004-today). Elected member of the Cuban Academy of Sciences. Senior Faculty of the Superior Institute of Medical Sciences of Havana. Member of the Board of Directors of Innovative Immunotherapy Alliance, a Joint Venture between US and Cuba for immunotherapy. Member of the Cuban and Latin-American Societies of immunology. Member of the Cuban, American and European Societies of Oncology. Member of the Cuban National Group of Oncology. Have published more than 70 papers and participated in more than 200 international congress as speaker. Dr Crombet has received 7 times the Annual Award of the Cuban Academy of Sciences as well as the Young Scientist Award in Biology of the Third World Academy of Sciences and the Special Award of the Cuban Society of Immunology for the contributions to immunology in 2008. Dr. Crombet main area of expertise consists on cancer immunotherapy (active and passive) and her work has contributed to the registration in Cuba and abroad of 2 cancer vaccines and 2 monoclonal antibodies for several epithelial tumors and autoimmune diseases.
