I am a graduate with a BSc (Hons) in Immunology (1981) and PhD in Immunology (1986), both from University of Glasgow, Scotland. I have over 30 years research experience in ruminant immunology with an interest in developing new methods of preventing and controlling infectious diseases of farmed livestock. I worked at Moredun Research Institute, Edinburgh from 1986 until 2019 as leader of the immunology team. I am now Honorary Professor at The Roslin Institute at The University of Edinburgh. I am currently Chair of the International Union of Immunological Societies (IUIS) Veterinary Immunology Committee (VIC) and Congress Secretary of the British Society for Immunology (BSI).
