Ruslan Medzhitov is a Sterling Professor at Yale University School of Medicine and an Investigator of the Howard Hughes Medical Institute. His research interests include the biology of inflammation, metabolism, immunology and evolutionary medicine.

Ruslan Medzhitov is a member of the National Academy of Sciences and the National Academy of Medicine. He is a member of the European Molecular Biology Organization, a fellow of the American Academy of Microbiology and a foreign member of the Russian Academy of Sciences.

His awards include William B.
